I first had the idea to create a jewelry piece based on Matthew 5:13-16 back in 2014. After reading this passage one day, I was moved to design a tangible reminder of Jesus' call to be the salt of the earth and the light of the world. Other the next few months, the Lord gave me inspiration and direction to design the necklace, source materials, and bring this idea to life.
For a while, I sold it along with my other jewelry online and at markets. Then, I began to receive orders from churches, ministries, and groups. After joining Initiative Network's discipleship program for local missionaries, I later partnered with them to sell the Salt and Light Necklace through their organization, which greatly expanded the reach of this necklace and message.
